(Blaine High School boundaries - click here)
Attend a school whose location is within the boundaries of Blaine High School,
Obtain a waiver (for more information, please contact your home association).
BYHA will be verifying that registered players are eligible to participate and play with BYHA.
All players MUST register with USA HOCKEY prior to registering with BYHA. You will receive a USA Hockey Confirmation Number that will be required during the registration process.
There is a registration fee if player age is 7 or older. USA Hockey fee is waived for age 6 and younger, however, registration must still be completed to obtain a confirmation number. If a participant plays and coaches he/she pays only one registration fee. USA Hockey requires this fee because USA Hockey carries insurance for an injury on the ice.
The home address should be used for all participants.
Steps to register on USA Hockey:
If you are age eligible for Mites|8U you must register via the In-House Registration and indicate you are electing to request a waive up.
If you are Traveling age and requesting a waive up to an older level, you must register for the ACTUAL age group you belong in.
You also must complete a Waive Up Request Form and email it to the Boys or Girls Traveling Director.
You also must attend the BYHA Board Meeting and present your reasoning for request.
Until the waive up request is approved or denied by the Board, you may not attend any Traveling Pre-Skate sessions for the waive up level.
If your waive up is approved, you will be refunded for the In-House registration fee and will be required to re-register for the Traveling program.
All 2019-20 Season Waive-Up Requests are due in by midnight on Friday, August 16th.
Each TRAVELING family is requested to volunteer at least five (5) credits per season. If five credits are done, your Volunteer fee will be reimbursed.
There are opportunities throughout the season to complete these hours, please check the volunteer section on the web site to sign up. Volunteer hours are documented through DIBS.
Since volunteers have contact with players, each is required to do the following (there are no fees for volunteers):
Register with USA Hockey. No charge.

Register with BYHA as a volunteer. No Charge.
BYHA hopes each family understands there is significant time and effort surrounding establishing registration fee amounts for each level. Beyond the registration fee BYHA relies heavily on sponsors and donations to keep fees at the most reasonable level possible.
Registration fees are utilized to pay of operating expenses such as:
BYHA primarily uses historical operating results to gauge registration fees. In addition, estimated figures and data is used such as; number of registered players, ice time hourly rates, District 10 fees, number and location of tournaments.
We strongly encourage support of our Charitable Gambling sites in an effort to keep the fees to a minimum.
At higher levels of play an additional fee will be charged. The rostering/season fee will be assessed shortly after tryouts are concluded and teams are finalized.
The fee is to cover additional costs associated with play at this level.
