Volunteers are what our program is based on and what makes it great.  Without a village of people banding together to help make our program run strong, we wouldn't be the success we are today. There are many ways to fulfill your families volunteer hours - here are a few suggestions:

  • Tryouts (Sept-Oct)
  • Team Manager
  • Parent Coaching Positions
  • Team SafeSport Manager
  • S.K.A.T.E. Committee Member

Please check back frequently to find times you can help our program out.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Team duties do not count toward volunteer hours, however, it is expected that every family share in these duties for each team you have a player on. Those duties include: locker room monitors, running the clock, penalty box, and keeping the score book.

Volunteer Policy

Each BYHA traveling family is required to volunteer at least five (5) hours per season.  There are opportunities throughout the season to complete these hours, please check the volunteer section on the web site to sign up.

Volunteer hours are documented through DIBS.

Since volunteers have contact with players, each is required to do the following (there are no fees for volunteers):

  • Register with USA Hockey as a Volunteer.  (online here)
  • Register with BYHA by clicking the link below
  • Complete the USA Hockey SafeSport Training.  (online here)    This is needed every other year.
  • Complete MN Hockey Background Screening to be allowed to monitor locker rooms.  (online here)

The Registration "Volunteer" is not currently available.
