Volunteers are what our program is based on.  Without a village of people banding together to help make our program run strong, we wouldn't be the success we are today. There are many ways to fulfill your families volunteer hours - here are a few suggestions:

  • Tryouts (Sept-Oct)
  • Team Pictures
  • S.K.A.T.E. Committee Member
  • Team Manager
  • Parent Coaching Positions
  • Blazin' Blaine Parade
  • Board / Coordinator Positions

Please check back frequently to find times you can help our program out.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Team duties do not count toward volunteer hours, however, it is expected that every family share in these duties for each team you have a player on. Those duties include: running the clock, penalty box, and keeping the score book.

Volunteer Policy

Each BYHA family is required to volunteer at least five (5) hours per season. There are opportunities throughout the season to complete these hours, please check the volunteer section on the web site to sign up.

Volunteer hours are documented by completing a Volunteer Confirmation Sheet, and verified by the party responsible for the activity. Completed documents are submitted to the Volunteer Coordinator.

Since volunteers have contact with players, each is required to do the following (there are no fees for volunteers):

  • Register with USA Hockey as a Volunteer (online).
  • Complete the USA Hockey SafeSport Training (online).
  • Complete the MN Hockey Background Screening to be allowed to monitor locker rooms (online).
  • Register with BYHA by clicking the link below

The Registration "Volunteer" is not currently available.
