All participants registering for BYHA (players, coaches, volunteers) MUST register with USA HOCKEY prior to registering with the association. You will get a nine-digit confirmation code that needs to be entered during BYHA registration.
The registration fee is $40 for USA Hockey and $10 for MN Hockey (US Hockey affiliate) if age 7 or older. The USA Hockey fee is waived for age 6 and younger, however, registration must still be completed to obtain a confirmation number. If a participant plays and coaches he/she pays only one registration fee. USA Hockey requires this fee because USA Hockey carries insurance for an injury on the ice.
The home address should be used for all participants. If a player lives in one state and plays in another, enter the home address and pay any applicable Affiliate fee. The confirmation page/number will be accepted by any USA Hockey program in the country.
Additional confirmation pages can be requested from the Welcome page at USA Hockey. Click on the puck in the upper left corner and enter last name, date of birth and zip code. You can then print the page or send it to the email address you enter.
Steps to register on USA Hockey:
To access BYHA online registration you will need to log in to your SportsEngine account. Do not create a new account if you already have one. If you do not yet have a SportsEngine account, you need to create one by clicking on the "create an account" at the top of the page.
BYHA is a non-profit organization. All of our programs are budgeted to break even. The combination of registration and team fees must cover the costs of operating our Association programs. These fees are determined each year based on our current operating costs, projected player counts and best estimates of revenue from Sponsorships, Fundraising Initiatives and Charitable Gambling donations.
Registration fees are utilized to pay for operating costs, such as:
Registration fee is due for all players at time of registration. Also, all outstanding family accounts must be paid in full. Players will not be allowed to participate in pre-skates, tryouts and in-house initiation skates if there is an outstanding prior year balance.
An additional team fee will be assessed after team selections are made. This will occur 15-20 days after team selections are complete. You will be notified of the amount due. Team/Ice fees are utilized to pay for operating costs, such as:
Payment options for team/ice fees will be done online using your SportsEngine account, and can be made via credit or debit card*.
* Neither BYHA or SportsEngine retain or store your credit/debit card or bank account information. All payment information, including recurring billing are processed by Verisign and the transaction is secure through the merchant account with PCI Level 1 compliance.
* A processing fee of 3.75% plus $1.50 will be added to each transaction.
If team fees are not paid in full before February 1, 2018, player will no longer be able to participate in BYHA activities, including: District, Region, State tournament play.
Credits can be earned/applied to team fees. You must contact the Treasurer to receive a credit code to apply during online payment selection. Credits can be received for:
**If a family has three (3) or more players, they can apply for a registration fee credit. To apply, submit a completed registration form to the Treasurer. Credit amounts will be applied in order of the youngest player first.
Refunds will be handled as stated below:
No refunds of any type will be given until the Treasurer has approval from the Board.
Each BYHA family is required to volunteer at least five (5) hours per season. There are opportunities throughout the season to complete these hours, please check the volunteer section on the web site to sign up.
Volunteer hours are documented by completing a Volunteer Confirmation Sheet, available under the Forms and Documents section, and verified by the party responsible for the activity. Completed documents are submitted to the Volunteer Coordinator.
Since volunteers have contact with players, each is required to do the following (there are no fees for volunteers):
MITE/U8 ELIGIBLE PLAYERS WHO ARE WAIVING UP
If you are eligible for Mites/U8 and are electing to waive up to squirts/U10, you MUST register for Inhouse and indicate on the registration that you are waiving up. You must also send your completed Waive Up Request to the appropriate Traveling Director.
